North Jersey Planting Zones

Aerial of East Orange New Jersey

North Jersey’s planting zones range from 6b to 7b. That means that the lowest annual temperatures are between -5 and 10 degrees Fahrenheit. The coldest counties are Sussex, Warren, Morris, and western Passaic. On the other hand, the east coast is warmer.

Knowing your planting zones, also known as hardiness zones, helps you understand which grass and plants thrive in your area. Pick the wrong grass and plants, and they’ll wither.
