Jacksonville Beach lawn care
Jacksonville Beach, Fl is nestled beautifully between the Intracoastal Waterway and the Atlantic Ocean. With the largest city in America, Jacksonville, to its west, Jacksonville Beach is the perfect combination of a beach town with a big city right next door.
When you are on the beach side of the Intracoastal Waterway, you would never even know that you were only minutes away from a big city. There are great restaurants, great surf shops, and great neighborhoods all within walking distance of each other.
On top of that, Jacksonville Beach is one of the few "high-rise free" beaches in Florida. As you scan the ocean scenery, you will not see a large number of multi-floor hotels or condos due to a city ordinance aimed at keeping the beach beautiful and accessible to locals. There is plenty of public parking and plenty of moderately priced neighborhoods close to the beach.
The school system in Jacksonville Beach is top notch. While the public schools are part of the Duval County School System (Duval County and Jacksonville are synonymous) the actual schools close to the beach are what set the educational system in Jacksonville Beach apart. With Fletcher Senior and Junior High along with Alimacani Elementary, children receive a top-notch education in Jacksonville Beach.
The fishing pier at Jacksonville Beach is a sight to behold. Any time of the day or night there can be hundreds of fishermen waiting for a bite, and it is a common occurrence for a shark to be reeled into the pier. On top of the fishing, surfing is excellent as well, and you will meet all kinds of people on their surfboards and paddle boards.
There are national parks like the dunes system and Hanna Park just a few miles away. Hanna Park is a great Jacksonville treasure as it is a beach park with camping, rentals, and public facilities throughout. There is a small fee to enter the facilities, but it is worth the cost to see all that Hanna Park has to offer.
Mayport Naval Station is located in Jacksonville Beach as well and is a great stop for anyone interested in Naval history. If you are active military and are deciding where to ask to be stationed next, Mayport would be a perfect choice.
The Beaches Museum is at the end of Beach Blvd. at state road A1A at the beach. There is a steam engine from 1911, a beautiful old chapel, and paintings and photographs of Jacksonville Beach history. It would not take you a whole day to visit, but it is worth it to pop in and to see the old steam engine, especially if you have kids.
There are some incredible locally owned beach restaurants at Jacksonville Beach as well. Salt Life is one restaurant that is gaining in popularity and had its start in Jacksonville Beach. There are other great seafood restaurants as well such as Palm Valley Fish Camp, Barbara Jean's, and Marker 32. These local establishments, along with the chain restaurants like Bonefish Grill, Outback, and Ruth's Chris make dining out at Jacksonville Beach a great experience.
Sunshine Surf Shop and Aqua East are two of the local surf shops at Jacksonville Beach. They are the perfect stop for anyone looking for supplies, flip flops, bathing suits, or even surfing and scuba gear. They are the perfect addition to the beach scene and will help you get in the right frame of mind to enjoy a day on the ocean.
If you are a sports fan, Jacksonville Beach is the perfect location. One of the top tennis resorts and programs can be found at Ponte Vedra Inn and Club right on the beach. On top of that, you have Sawgrass, First Tee, and the Ocean and Lagoon Courses at Ponte Vedra Inn.
If watching is more your style, the PGA's "fifth major" is played right down the road. The Players Championship has the most accomplished field in golf and is one of the most interesting courses on the tour. You can find a seat in the grandstand at the island hole on 17, and you do not even really have to move. On top of that, a short drive to downtown Jacksonville will bring you to a Jacksonville Jaguars NFL game. One of 32 cities to have an NFL team, it will not take you long to fall in love with the Jaguars.
