Kannapolis lawn care services
The mild climate of Kannapolis provides ample reasons to get outside and enjoy the weather. The city of Kannapolis offers a number of parks and recreational opportunities for its residents to enjoy.
Veterans Park
Veterans Park at 119 North Main Street combines vast green spaces, fountains, and walkways of brick to create a special events and concert area for the community. The park also includes memorials such as the granite Ring of Honor, an eternal flame, a bronze wreath, and the Memorial Plaza monument. The Ring of Honor features the names of the more than 1,700 individuals from Cabarrus and Rowan counties who died in service. The earliest names date back to the Revolutionary War.
Dale Earnhardt Plaza
The one-acre park at 109 West A Street at Main Street honors Kannapolis native, race car driver Dale Earnhardt. You'll find a nine feet bronze statue weighing 900 pounds in the park's center, an homage to Earnhardt. Gardens and walkways surround the statue, a popular place for Earnhardt fans to leave messages and tributes. The seven sections of the granite pedestal for the statue stand for Earnhardt's seven Winston Cup Championship wins, the seven steps leading into the Plaza stand for Earnhardt's seven championship wins and the 76 seats around the statue square stand for his 76 Winston Cup race wins. His car's number, three, appears in the beds of azaleas and daylilies and the number of benches in each grouping. Eight lights illuminate the statue. That number stands for the car numbers of his father, Ralph Earnhardt and his son, Dale Earnhardt, Jr.
