Bass Lake Park
This beautiful park is the perfect spot to reconnect with nature. Bass Lake itself is 54 acres, with plenty of opportunity to fish for catfish, bass, bream, and crappie. And don't worry about bringing your own pole - you can borrow one through the free Tackle Loaner Program. You'll also be able to rent canoes and john-boats to get on the water. Bass Lake Park has trails open year round and is home to many native species of plants and animals. The park also has a Nature Center set up by the North Carolina Environmental Education Center that presents lots of native animal exhibits, a reference library, as well as knowledgeable staff ready to answer any questions you may have.
If you're looking for an eco-friendly way to get around town, try the greenways! These elevated walkways through nature allow you to get around while reconnecting with nature, and saving some gas! Click here to see a map of the current greenways and plans for future greenways.
Gather at the park dedicated to the men and women who have served our country in the military. This park has a liberty elm that was donated by the Elm Research Institute of Keene, NH. It stands as a symbol of enduring freedom. At this park, you'll also find a playground and a picnic shelter. A beautiful 4.3-acre pond stands next to the playground and has a half-mile paved trail around it, complete with fitness stations to help you get in shape.
If your kids are getting restless on those long summer days, Womble Park is the perfect place to come and play. It's built on a 46-acre site that Holly Springs purchased in 1997, and its expansion was completed in 2013. This fun-packed park has four lighted baseball/softball fields, a multi-purpose synthetic turf field for sports, tennis courts both regular and youth sized, a picnic shelter, a playground, and outdoor stage, walking trails, pits for horseshoes, a volleyball court, and a concession area.
