Sunrise lawn care services
Sunrise, FL is amid the tri-county combination of Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade. Upwards of 30,000 annual travelers find their way to the city, especially around springtime when the surrounding Everglades wilderness blooms in bright greens under blue skies. Sunrise is less than an hour from Downtown Miami and Palm Beach, and minutes from popular Fort Lauderdale beaches. The Sawgrass Expressway, Interstate 75, and the Florida Turnpike make this city super-accessible via all significant modes of transportation.
Originally a village of 350 residents in 1961, Sunrise, FL was set to be named Sunset. However, the locals felt the name implied a place to end instead of a place to begin. Ever the optimists, the locals renamed the village Sunrise to reference the beginning of new days that were hoped to be bright and beautiful. You could say the villagers were superstitious, but thousands flocked to populate the area when Sunrise became famous for both their name and The Upside-Down House.
The Upside-Down House of Sunrise was a 1960s gimmick to populate the city. It worked. Guests could tour the model home which features real furniture, a car, and the entire house all flipped upside down. It gave guests the illusion of walking on the ceilings. Unfortunately, the home was eventually demolished, but there are real homes in Sunrise meant to resemble right-side up replicas of The Upside-Down House.
Locals love to celebrate and have fun throughout the year in Sunrise. One of the most popular annual festivals is the Earth Day Festival in April. This celebration encourages a go-green lifestyle with live music, family rides and games, a farmer's market of fresh, local produce, and handcrafted crafts from local artisans. In October, the city hosts a Harvest Festival, complete with costume contests for all ages, a horse-drawn hayride, and a stroll through a homegrown pumpkin patch.
Other celebrations in Sunrise include Woodstock in December and the Cultural Festival in November. Both of these events focus on the diversity of the residents, with handmade arts and demonstrations from local craftsmen, delicious foods, and live music and dance.
Sports is a big deal in Sunrise, especially with the introduction of the BB and T Center. The 20,000-seat pavilion hosts over 100 entertainers and events annually. The arena is home to the NHL's Florida Panthers, but the center has also hosted musical performers like Cher, Celine Dion, Pentatonix, Lady Gaga, and Elton John. Barack Obama and Donald Trump have also held rallies as part of their presidential campaigns on the pavilion stage.
