What Our Customers Are Saying

As usual, Elijah and his crew did an impeccable job. They are the best service we have ever had from Lawn Love. I hope they will continue to be our provider for as long as we need someone to take care of our lawn. I cannot say enough about how pleased we are with the service we get from him. The communication is great and I am always made aware of changes or reschedules that have to be made. Thank you Elijah for providing great service every time.

Excellent work, good workers, pleasant and friendly . However I don’t think that they are allowed to perform any additional work regardless of how small. So nothing is done extra, that would take very little to do. I don’t think that this problem is due to their inattentiveness but due to the policy of lawnlove. This is not smart as it applies to future and continuous requested work from lawnlove. Sincerely Edward Musante.

I had a great experience with William. He was able to accommodate coming sooner than scheduled to get things done and was thorough and cleaned the yard up nicely. He sent pictures when complete, which was reassuring. He was easy to talk to and responded very quickly when I messaged.

Derrelle has been doing an excellent job in maintaining our lawn and communicates well to notify us of any changes or other issues/concerns. He is respectful and considerate to make sure our dog toys are not in the way when we forget to put them away ourselves.

Lawn Love’s Leaf Removal Service in New York City

Autumn in New York City is breathtaking, but it can also leave you breathless trying to rake, bag, or vacuum the fall leaves from your yard.

Don’t bother. Lawn Love makes leaf removal easy. Our local lawn care pros in New York City are great at mowing but also handle leaf cleanup in the fall.

Lawn Love’s leaf removal pricing is based on the size of your yard and the amount of leaves on your lawn. Our local leaf cleanup pros rake or blow the leaves onto a tarp and then bag them.

Leaves usually start falling in late September in New York City, and leaf removal tends to be needed through November. In fact, New York City has free leaf pickup every week on your designated recycling day. Residents should dispose of their fallen leaves and yard waste in designated brown compost bins, clear plastic bags, or paper bags. Remember, you’re not allowed to burn leaves and yard waste in NYC.

Most common trees that shed leaves in New York City:

  • Maple
  • Zelkova
  • Sweetgum
  • Oak

Whether you have a private or shared backyard, you may need leaf cleanup more often due to New York’s unpredictable weather. From scorching heat to humidity to severe storms to floods, humidity and moisture can attract pests and foster lawn diseases.

Bottom Line: Fall leaves are beautiful in Central Park, just not in your yard.

Lawn Love Leaf Removal FAQ

How can leaves damage my lawn?

A thick layer of leaves:

  • Smothers grass. Leaves block the sun, water, and air your grass needs.
  • Spurs lawn diseases (such as snow molds, red thread, and brown patch).
  • Attracts pests (ants, termites, cockroaches, and rodents, for example).
  • Increases weeds. A thick layer of moist leaves fuels weed growth.
  • Lowers curb appeal. Your yard looks uncared for or like a lot of work to buyers.

How can you get rid of leaves in your yard?

  • Hire a leaf removal crew. Easiest option, saves time, energy, and possible backache.
  • Rake and bag leaves. This takes time and effort and can strain your back.
  • Blow leaves and then bag them. It takes less time, but can strain your knees.
  • Vacuum leaves. This takes even less time, but it’s a specialized and expensive service.
  • Mulch leaves. Mulching mowers make this easy, and mulched leaves add nutrients.

What to do with the leaves you clean up

  • Place bags of leaves at the curb for easy pickup.
  • Mulch them.
  • Compost them. Leaf mold is often called gardener’s gold.
  • Use them as insulation to protect root vegetables from the cold.

How much does leaf removal cost?

Your leaf removal price reflects these cost factors:

  • Yard size
  • Number of trees in your yard (more trees means more leaves)
  • Amount of leaves (dry or wet leaves and thin or thick layer covering your grass)
  • Leaf removal method (raking and bagging costs more because it takes more time)
  • Time of year (leaf removal prices are highest in fall, which is peak season)

How often should I have my leaves removed?

This depends on where you live and your own lawn.

Biweekly or monthly leaf removal is common in the Northeast and Midwest, where yards tend to have more trees that drop their leaves in fall.

One-time leaf removal (or twice per year) is common In cities in the South and Southwest, where there are fewer trees that drop leaves.

Give your yard some Lawn Love with our leaf removal service. Our local leaf cleanup pros are a few clicks or a quick call away.
