In terms of entertainment, there are two movie theaters, a high-end mall, and over 150 restaurants. A number of grocery stores and smaller shops are dotted around The Woodlands along with community staples like gas stations and banks.
Market Street is a pedestrian shopping district that has a quaint atmosphere. That's where you can catch a movie and grab a bite to eat with friends or family. Indoor shopping and hanging out can be done in The Woodlands Mall, home to over 120 stores and a food court.
The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion has an amphitheater with seating for over 16,000. More than just a community gathering place, it's stage has been graced by legends such as Frank Sinatra and Alabama. It regularly hosts performances of the Houston Symphony, the Houston Grand Opera, and the Houston Ballet.
Many families reside in The Woodlands. The area is divided in such a way that students generally go to either schools in Conroe, Magnolia, or Tomball Districts. For public high schools, there are two schools located within the community's borders: The Woodlands High School and The Woodlands College Park High School. Football and soccer are favorite sports that brings fans from all parts of the neighborhood together.
Several private high schools have sizable populations. In the neighborhood are the John Cooper School, The Woodlands Preparatory School, and The Woodlands Christian Academy.
There are options for higher education as well. Lone Star College and Sam Houston State University - The Woodlands Center both have campuses there. A smaller school, Our Lady of the Lake University, also offers classes in The Woodlands.
