Webster lawn care services
The town motto for lovely Webster is "Where Life Is Worth Living". That certainly is true; there are many things to love about Webster, especially if you're a nature lover.
Just to the north of Webster is beautiful Lake Ontario. Webster Park along the lakeshore is a great place to relax. The path around Lake Ontario leads to a long dock jutting out over the water; what a peaceful place to watch the sparkling waves. Lake Ontario is such a great place to fish, go for a picnic, or take a walk. A pavilion at the lake is also a beautiful place to have your wedding. Webster Park also has cabins and campsites if you want to find peace during the weekend. The miles and miles are well maintained for summer hiking and cross country skiing in the winter. The "Big Hill" just off Holt Road has long been a favorite for sledding after the first snow.
Just to the west of Webster is Irondequoit Bay. On February 9, 2009, the town renamed Irondequoit Bay Park he Abraham Lincoln Park, in honor of Lincoln's 200th birthday. The beautiful 182-acre park is also a popular place to stage a spring wedding, and the children's playground is incredible. Visitors and natives alike revel in the spider's web of nature trails weaving through the 182 acres. Walking the trails in Abraham Lincoln park is like finding yourself in an enchanted forest; the forest canopy is so dense, the sun only makes it through in thin tendrils.
Kent Park and Arboretum is a relatively small park; it offers expansive green lawns, beautiful flowers planted in formal gardens, ponds, and a clubhouse. The children's playground and ball fields here are a local favorite. The walking paths through the arboretum are a beautiful nature stroll.
North Ponds Park is close to Route 104, but the noise isn't an issue. Although it's close to the road, you can still see wildlife and protected plants along the walking paths. The big ponds usually have geese and ducks, depending on the season. There is even a bird watching trail and fishing on the ponds.
Veteran's Memorial Park is a small but meaningful place in the village; it's a place to reflect as you read the names of the veterans on the bricks. This little park is alive with flower spring and summer, and there's a charming gazebo for summer events.
The Webster Museum on Lapham Park off Main St. is filled with information, memorabilia, and artifacts from this small town in Western New York. The town got its beginning on July 25, 1837, when the famous statesman and orator Daniel Webster addressed a gathering in nearby Rochester NY. The farmers from North Penfield were so impressed that they petitioned the state legislature to create a separate town from Penfield. On February 6, 1840, the north section of Penfield was officially changed to the town of Webster. The museum immortalizes everything from a butterfly collection to antique farming equipment. The quaint, little old building is deceptive; it holds a vast treasure trove of Webster's history.
Webster received the title of "Number 1 Sportstown in New York" in May 2005 from Sports Illustrated magazine. Webster received this honor for its commitment to using creative ways to use sports for the overall well-being of the community. The high school sports teams in Webster regularly win state championships. The sports facilities in Webster include a hockey and soccer complex, two well-lit stadiums, an Olympic-size indoor pool, and an indoor track.
