When the days get longer, and the weather gets warmer, people all over America long to spend time outdoors again. While the seasons may not be too severe here in Cedar Hill, Dallas, the beginning of spring still awakens a stirring in your chest. And there's nothing more beautiful than the spring and summer in Texas. Between BBQs, live music, and exploring the great outdoors, Cedar Hill has so much to offer.
Spring Into Action
Whether you're looking for a peaceful afternoon to have some alone time, or need a great adventure to occupy to your hyper kids on long summer days, Cedar Hill has a little something for everyone in your family.
Flowering Dogwood Blooms Guided Hikes
Robert Frost was right when he wrote that "her early leaf's a flower, but only so an hour." Part of what makes spring so beautiful is its ephemeral nature. Don't miss the short bloom, take advantage of Cedar Hill's natural Dogwood blooms with 3 mile guided hikes through the Pineywoods and Post Oak Belts of East Texas. After the hike, wine and snacks will be provided, and you'll be able to meet the live education American Kestral.
Earth Fest: An Earth and Arbor Day Celebration
Celebrate this beautiful planet we live on at Earth Fest, located at the Cedar Hill Government Center. You'll be able to visit with environmentally conscious vendors, enjoy sustainability tours, food, and tree giveaways for Cedar Hill residents, as well as performances by local school groups, and more!

Keep the celebration of Mother Nature going with 'Earth X', the world's largest annual forum for sharing the latest initiatives, discoveries, research, innovations, policies, products, and corporate practices that are making our world a more ecoconscious place. DFW Soccerfest
In late May, all the soccer lovers in the area head to Valley Ridge Park, the first of a series of soccer festivals hosted by Total 10 Sports, and sanctioned by the North Texas Soccer governing body. DFW Soccerfest will have 4v4 and 7v7 tournaments for both adults and kids. Even the family members that gripe about attending games will want to come to hang out because surrounding the tournament will be festival games, inflatables, giveaways, music, food, and other fun activities!
Cedar Hill Triathlon
On June 9th, head over to Cedar Hill State Park, where TriNow Endurance is presenting the Cedar Hill Triathlon. Swim through Joe Pool Lake and bike and race your way through the rolling hills of Cedar Hill State Park. USSSA A World Series
Have a beautiful day at the park filled with all American fun, watching the USSSA A World Series. The first game is Sunday, June 19th, and continues through the 23rd. Grab a cap, a mitt, and some sunscreen and head over to Dot Thomas Park and Valley Ridge Park to catch the games.
The Green Outdoors
While the weather might be great for spending a day in the sun, spring and summer often do damage to your lawn. They bring a mix of intense heat, accompanied by torrential rains or desiccating droughts that leave your greenery either drowning in mud or drying out and slowly dying.
