Live Oak now allows the use of specific kayaks, canoes, paddle boards, paddle boats, and non-motorized watercraft on Live Oak Lake. However, private boats and manually-inflated rafts are not permitted. Those who wish to use watercraft while on the lake are required to wear a life jacket at all times. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited while boating. Personal watercraft may only be used during daylight hours. Although non-motorized watercraft are permitted, swimming in Live Oak Lake is not allowed.

The disc golf course at Live Oak Park is home to some of the San Antonio area's best disc golfers. The championship course begins near the sports fields at Main Park and covers 1.54 miles. Six of the course's eighteen holes are located adjacent to water.

Located on Forest Pass Court, the nature park covers 32 acres. Most of which are wooded. The Live Oak pool and clubhouse are available are open to the public and available for private event rental during certain months of the year. The pool is large enough to accommodate 75 people and includes shaded seating and a wading pool for small children.
