No matter who you are, no matter what your interests are, the beginning of Spring awakens a stirring in all of us, leaving us yearning for the outdoors. This is lucky for residents of Edmonds, one of the most breathtakingly beautiful cities. Whether you're hanging out in your backyard with friends or visiting local sites, make it a priority to get outside and get some fresh air.
Spring Around Seattle
This beautiful Seattle suburb is ideally situated next to the ocean, giving it a fresh-aired and balmy feeling year round. Whether you're looking to reconnect with nature and yourself, want to have an adventurous outing with friends, or need family-friendly fun, Edmonds has something for everyone.
Anderson Center Field and Frances Anderson Center
If you're looking for a day of fresh air and maybe some pick-up soccer or football, try the Anderson Center Field. It's home to an amphitheater, baseball fields, soccer fields, a playground, public art, and picnic tables. It's also home to the Frances Anderson Center, an indoor gym center that offers a weight room, sports programs, and classes. You can also rent out the Frances Anderson Center for birthday parties.
Brackett's Landing North and Edmonds Underwater Park
Located at Main Street and Railroad Avenue, Brackett's Landing North has a beautiful Marine Sanctuary, pathways along the waterfront, picnic areas, public art, and scuba diving at Edmonds Underwater Park. The park has over 27 acres of tide and bottomlands, and approximately half of this area has been developed with trails and other features specifically for divers. Submerged is a series of man-made reef structures and sunken vessels in various states of decay, creating a widespread and stunning home for sea life.
Grab your compass and head for an adventure at Hutt Park, an undeveloped forest with trails. Or, make your own trails through this beautiful, thick forest.
Located at 470 Marina Way, Marina Beach is one of the best spots in Edmonds, and because a bus stop is nearby, you can access it by public transit. This beach has BBQ stands scattered around the park, open turf area, a car top boat launch, pathways along the waterfront, a picnic area, a playground, a scenic identifier, a volleyball sand court, and net, and a designated off-leash dog area. Bring the kids and the family dog and have an afternoon on the water that you won't forget.
This beautiful beach is located at 200 Admiral Way and offers a Marine sanctuary, pathways along the waterfront, public art, a viewing scope, picnic tables, as well as the Visitor Station and fishing pier. The Visitor Station is open on weekends from 12 to 5 pm from Memorial Day through Labor Day. The Visitor Station is staffed with Ranger-Naturalists and Volunteer Beach Docents who can answer any of your questions about marine life. Plus, the touch tank will give you an up-close and personal look at local marine life.
Play some pick-up games at Seaview Park, where you'll find accommodations for most sports. Seaview Park has baseball and soccer fields, as well as a basketball court, a loop pathway, a picnic area, a playground, and tennis fields. Plus, you can bring your dog if they're leashed.
