Skyland Park
This 11-acre park is a family-friendly spot. In addition to a dog park for large and small dogs, park features include two sand volleyball courts, two picnic shelters, solar-powered shade structures for charging electronic devices, a safe playground area located underneath a canopy of trees, and a big open space field.
Silver Lake
This storied, man-made, 28-acre lake is situated on 80 acres of old growth forests and was built in 1911. At one point, William Randolph Hearst owned the lake. A certified wildlife biologist manages the water quality, and the area serves as a sanctuary for both endangered birds and foxes. Silver Lake was Atlanta's first large-scale bird sanctuary. For an annual fee of $60, residents can enjoy fishing, kayaking, and hiking around the lake.
Nancy Creek Trail
This 5.4-mile trail connects Murphy Candler Park Nature Trail to the Johnson Ferry Redevelopment Project. It's a peaceful hike, crossing two creeks on bridges that provide the perfect scenic overlook to take in nature's beauty.
