Parks in Clayton, MO
The Center of Clayton is located in Shaw Park, the oldest and largest park in the city. The Aquatic Center in Shaw Park features a 50-meter outdoor pool that's open from late May through August. There is also a splash pool for young children at the park as well as an outdoor ice rink.
Oak Knoll Park is the second largest of the city's parks. Encompassing 14.5 acres, it's home to some 150-year-old Post Oak trees as well as turtles that live in the pond near where music concerts are held in the summer.
The Historic Hanley House Museum is located in Hanley Park. Built by Martin Franklin Hanley in 1855, the structure is the oldest in Clayton. Restored, it's listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Visitors who tour the interior can see furniture, letters, and items belonging to several generations of the Hanley family. Among the features of Clayshire Park, (another park) is a playground especially for children of preschool age and a gazebo.
