If it's Italian food you're in the mood for, you can try Lomonte's Italian Restaurant on Grisby Road. They have a traditional and romantic ambiance, so Lomonte's is a good date-night place. If you're looking for something lighthearted and fun, there's Bull Creek Café & Grill for traditional American bar food and the Swinging Door for barbeque.
Arts and Shows
Ready to work off all that food? Mission Bend has Mission Bend Community Park where you can experience lots of green space and enjoy art shows in the park that highlight the work of local artists. If you want a little more culture, you can sign your children up for dance lessons at Soreal Dance Studio or music lessons at the Conservatory of Music at Cinco Ranch. The Conservatory offers instruction in both voice and musical instruments throughout the year, but they also host a summer camp to give your children more opportunity to experience the joy that the fine arts can bring into their lives. When you're looking for a place to help your youngsters burn off some steam and have a good time, you can try the Funplex for go-karting or the Altitude Trampoline Park in Sugar Land.
Parks and Hiking Trails
For public park offerings, it's tough to be Mission Bend. Besides Mission Bend Community Park and their local art shows, there's also George Bush Park in West Oaks. Mission Bend has a swimming pool and tennis courts. Bush Park is known for its beautiful views, so it's a place not to be missed. You can try McClendon Park with the kiddos because it has both a splash pad and a playground. For outdoors enthusiasts, there's Ambrose Park and their jogging trails, and Brays Bayou Greenway Trail and Buffalo Bayou Trail for both biking and hiking.
Local Events
Since we're pretty serious about our food in Mission Bend, there's even a Food Truck Festival in West Houston that's held each April. Come check it out, and you'll be surprised at how excellent the cuisine is. What's impressive about it is the variety of food that you'll discover, as well as balloon artists, bouncy houses and magicians. It's fun for the whole family, and it's always affordable.
Celebration of Diversity
One thing that people always remark about Mission Bend is that it's a friendly town that shows a tremendous diversity, as there's a mix of ethnicities from around the Houston metro, and the world. Celebrate traditional Southern culture by attending the Crawfish, Cajun & Lobster event held in Houston each March, and celebrate Brazilian culture at the Brazilian Food & Music Festival held in nearby Sugar Land.
