If you could mow any celebrity's lawn, whose would it be?
Hank Hill. Even though he’s a fictional guy, he loves Texas and he loves his lawn. If he let me mow at his place then that would mean he appreciates the work we do.

What's your biggest lawn care pet peeve?
I really don’t have one. Given I have to choose something, I’d say it’s what we all do from time to time. Leaving things in the yard just long enough to let the grass grow tall around it while the grass dies beneath it. Then the item is moved. It makes the yard look incomplete.

Advice for anyone interested in starting their own lawn care business?
Be patient. Be willing to work a lot. I compare it to getting your own place. One normally cannot have all his/her parents have in a home immediately upon moving out. The same is with a lawn business; it takes time to build up to obtain all the equipment, routes, team, etc. A good business takes time.

What successes have you achieved from working in this industry?
This has been a good thing for me. It has strengthened the relationships I have with my sons. It has given me a chance to teach them some things I have learned. They have learned how to do much more than mowing as it has also provided an opportunity to provide for themselves as they reach their life’s goals.

    What's your favorite on-the-job snack?
Being a type 1 diabetic, I tend to always keep a variety of hydration drinks and orange juice in the cooler. When I’m feeling well and want a snack on the job, I tend to reach for an apple or another type of fruit.

The Colony lawn care

Have you ever really wondered what living in The Colony was like years ago? You may be one of the almost 37,000 people living in the city now, but the area wasn't always so developed.

History and Climate of The Colony

The city acquired its name from what was once the original Peters Colony. The Peters Colonists were the first to settle the land decades ago, braving many hardships to create new lives on new land. Fox and Jacobs, the original home developers, bought the land and named it "The Colony" to memorialize the first settlers of the area. Street construction began in 1974. Many of the streets were then named after the construction crew members and early settlers. It was 1974 when the first families started to move in.

Many residents have moved to The Colony because of the climate. The area has what is known as a humid subtropical climate, one that is characterized by scorching hot and humid summers and milder winters. Living in The Colony means having the opportunity to spend a lot of the year outdoors, enjoying time with family and friends in many different places. The subtropical climate also means that lawn care is an issue that must be taken into account more often than other climates. With the warm weather hanging around for longer than many cities, regular lawn care is a must.

Outdoor Activities in The Colony

The abundance of activities in The Colony is a main attraction for residents and those who are thinking of moving there. Since the weather is nicer for long periods of time, many people flock to Lewisville Lake for some outdoor fun. Lewisville Lake offers residents the chance to explore over 29,000 acres of recreational water opportunities. The lake features many marinas and boat ramp access points for adults who are into boating. The lake is great for those who love to swim, fish, and ski. However, there is more to the lake than just water activities as it is surrounded with over 16,500 acres of land. Thousands of people head there to hike, camp, picnic, cycle, and more. With all this acreage, lawn care is a must for most of the year.

Perhaps another reason that many residents plan to stay put in The Colony is due to the many nature trails the city has to offer. Who wouldn't want to leave the hustle and bustle of the city behind them and instead enjoy a beautiful countryside filled with wildflowers, birds, butterflies, and other wildlife? One place to head is the Shoreline Trail, which is a 3.5 mile, 10-foot wide trail that is perfect for walking, jogging, or biking. The trail snakes along the gorgeous shores of Lewisville Lake, giving way to beautiful rustic bridges that allow visitors to stop and take in the lovely scenery in front of them. Another trail found in The Colony is known as the Tribute Shoreline trail and runs for 3.11 miles. Visitors will enjoy the interpretive signage that points out many of the native and cultural features of the area around them as they walk, bike, or jog the trail. There are also restrooms, picnic tables, benches, and trash receptacles along the way.

The Colony is a wonderful place for homeowners and business alike. The town offers acres and acres of beautiful, lush lawns that must be adequately maintained to keep their natural beauty. Since the weather is either hot or warm most of the year, only the best lawn care service should be hired to take care of the land. Residents will want to make sure that a professional company meticulously maintains their lawns.

Lawn Love is the best choice when it comes to a lawn care service you can trust. We all have busy lives with multiple responsibilities, so it is no wonder than lawn care is often overlooked. With Lawn Love, residents of The Colony will be able to take care of all of their other duties without having to worry about fitting in time to take care of their lawn.

Lawn Love offers customers an easy way to select the lawn care services that they need online. Everything can be set up with a few clicks of the mouse, saving you time and energy. We are here whenever you need a reliable lawn care service in The Colony, Dallas, Texas.
